I had some free time today so I decided to put on the ported FAST intake and valve covers that I had painted awhile back (pics on first page). When I pulled the valve covers off I noticed all the stock PCV baffles and what not on had been cut out to clear the shaft mounted rockers. So naturally the valve covers I had spent hours sanding and painting didn't fit. I figure all that **** is there for a reason so I probably shouldn't cut it out. Also, even with a catch can the old intake had a nice coat of oil inside it so I'm guessing this PCV system wasn't doin its job for some reason.

After doing a few searches on here I decided to get an ls6 PCV conversion kit from thunder racing to solve two problems I have here...
1. The ls1's stock PCV system SUCKS! The ls6 PCV system is simply a better design. It pulls its air from an oil separator on the underside of the valley cover instead of the valve covers like the ls1 system.
2. Since the ls6 PCV doesn't require all that crap inside the valve covers or the tubes runnin everywhere I can get some badass fabricated valve covers that will clear the rockers. Most fabricated valve covers I've seen don't have any PCV provisions so they wouldn't work with the ls1's stock PCV system anyway.

I'm also gonna build some brackets and relocate the coils up under the cowl so i can get some covers without coil mounts like this....

I decided I'm just gonna sell the Black FAST 90mm intake and throttle body that came off this car instead of putting it on my white car like I planned. How does $950 sound? AND $100 for the stock valve covers I painted.

I've been busy with work so I haven't had time to get anything done. I got the fabricated valve covers on and started working on my coil mounts. Im still waiting on parts to do the ls6 pcv conversion.

Im surprised you got a refund from them. A lot of posts are rising about them stealing from people. Id definately stay away from them.

Good job on your build though. It looks great!

Really? man that's crazy.... I tried calling them over and over but the phones were disconnected. So I sent them a pissed off email and the next day I noticed the money had been refunded to my paypal account. I never got an email or any kind of explanation tho. Oh well.. they had had good prices and I would've bought a bunch of **** from them, but I'm glad I didn't now.

And Thanks!

I'm to the point where I really need a lift to finish this build so I broke down and ordered a two post asymmetrical lift. Now I have to use what little cash I have left to fix up and sell my ws6 to pay for the rest of this build. It's really gonna suck letting go of my first ls1. I had that car all through highschool and have ALOT of memories with it... I just keep tellin myself on to bigger and better things

I installed the lift this weekend, now I just need to wire it up and bleed the hydraulics. Then its time to pull the 427 out and tear it down. Gotta sell my ws6 before I can rebuild anything tho.

HAHA, the 600 HP 496 was in the early 90's. I'm planning a 598 short deck. It should have more than 600 HP
