Some did have it some didn't but no reason to get wet panties over it. It's not something to go out and buy a 02 for and get all excited about. Gm just superceded the part numbers and some of the later ones began to get the LS6 blocks sprinkled in as they were being built.

yes up to 15% of the '01's and 25% of the 2002's had the LS6 block. It's old news and there are threads about it. I only mentioned that so TOOTALL88 can keep that in mind as he shops for his 2002 and Obviously he will be looking under the hoods of these cars so is something to look for. Isn't hard to determine the LS6 block with a little homework. It had it's advantages, the engineers did claim more power but that is debateable.

I did purchase a red 2002 ta ws6 and i havent looked at the drivers side head yet but it is a late '02 and looking at the cast and stamp near the tb, i do believe its an ls6. i will look further and make sure. i will post pics soon. Thanks guys for the info and the heads up on the ls1 and ls6 blocks!
