I'm pretty sure mine sat up for a bit before I bought it to. It's amazing what a good cleaning will do for these cars. Keep us updated on your progress. Can't wait for you to get it back on the road.

Here is the last little bit of the harness removal.

Then the engine without wires.

And finally the new harness connected.

The car has a brain again, The mileage comes up and all the electrical seems to be running correctly......

Everything but the fuel pump.

The fuel pump is dead, I have power on the connector under the car when the key is turned to prime.

Operation Tank Yank underway!

Id like to use it to get to work and let my Sierra take a break once in awhile.

Once I get it to start I plan on doing some tune up work. The starter turns the motor so I at least know its not locked up.

I got the fuel pump from FedEx yesterday and I am going to change the oil before any attempt to start it.

The tank is all the way out now, once I pull the old pump I need to decide if I want to get the local radiator guy to clean the tank out or if it looks good.

I sprung for a Delphi in tank assembly thinking it would be nice to keep it GM(ish) and it looks like a good unit.

I am a little annoyed they just toss it in a box and let it rattle its way around the country.

I have gotten Airtex sending units before and they are always nicely stabilized by plastic covered styrofoam.

Oh well, the Delphi box says Made in USA So at least it didn't rattle its way on a slow boat from china.
