Default 78 t/a wheels on 00 bird

hey guys. I found a good deal on some snowflake wheels off a 78, was wondering if they would fit on my 00 bird i'm about to buy. i have read that the lug pattern is the same, but was wondering if the backspacing is different. couldnt find specs on both. so will they fit on my 2000 bird? thanks

Back spacing is way different. They will stick way out if they even fit at all. If they are nice & good deal, buy them. Can maybe sell them and make a couple bucks.

If you're looking for snowflakes, go with Year Ones made specific for our cars.

They wont clear the brakes either....total no go.

The 4th Gen Year Ones are your only option.

yea, i didn't think of brakes until today. i bought them though. only 100 bucks and don't have any curb rash or anything. they were painted black but gonna strip it off and maybe paint em. if i can't find anything to put em on, i'll probably just hang em up in my garage. im a t/a freak

Man, I looked into those things, and they are expensive as all hell. It would cost me almost $4K to replace the wheels on my car with them.

Too rich for my blood. I don't want wheels that cost half as much as the car... LOL

Nah...the cast 17s are less than $1000. You priced the billet ones.

I buy these all the time to put on 2nd gens.

I am looking at getting the cast 17's with the gold, since I have a tan interior. They are about $800.00.

Wow, nice! I've been considering going back to 17" wheels, and that would be a cool option.

I appreciate what you're trying to do, but even if they would clear the brakes they would look really bad on your car.
