Fuel pump not turning on 1998 Trans Am The cars fuel pump was not turning on, so we replaced the fuel pump thinking it was bad. Still does not turn the fuel pump on.
The car will turn over, and everything will turn on but won't start since it isn't getting fuel. Checked all the fuses, they are fine, changed the relays, still does not turn the fuel pump on.
Took a voltmeter to the fuel pump fuse (by pulling it out and checking the connection) under the hood, only one side was getting a reading. Also pulled the relay out and checked the pins of where the fuel pump relay goes. Only one of the pin out of 4 had a reading and was getting around 9 volts (the battery is old and was wearing down at this point.)
