Default 1/4 mile wierd stuff

i have a stock 2000 trans am auto 5.7 ws6 and i get constant 14.03 at the track with 88mph finish and under 2.1 60's with street tires and i cant seem to believe this bc.... i took my ipad and i found a real flat road in tx and hit the record button and 0-60 was in 5 flat (4.992) actually and i hit 100 at 13.8 seconds....how the heck am i at 88 in 14 seconds? btw this road is FLAT as hell and if anything slightly uphill a degree or two maybe. any opinions? bc i know my ta isnt that damn slow i should be right at 13.5 92ish. bc i raced a brand new 5.0 stang and his bumper was at my side mirror when we crossed and he got a 13.9 and i got a 14 03 wtf lol here is the wierd part my 1/8 mile times are better than his my 60 was better my mph at 1/8 was better and i was in front of him by 3ish feet.

Couple things.
What is the DA at the track? (If you don't know what Density Altitude is, look it up)
http://www.dragtimes.com/da-density-...calculator.php
Next, with that 60ft, are you spinning real bad or is the car bogging? Are you manually shifting (shouldn't be doing this)?
How many miles are on the car, and what are the mods? (list anything, even an air filter, some mods may hurt your times)
Worst case scenario it may just be time for a tune up.
In decent DA you should be running mid to low 13s @ 102-105+mph. Guys have seen high 12s @108 on completely stock cars with great DA.

Because this is the average speed of your run, calculated by taking the 1/4 mile distance and simply dividing it by your time.

Way to many variables come into play when comparing ET's like was stated before. As fas as you beating your friend yet having a slower it. That's most likely all in the reaction time.

Well, for one.. 2.1 is not a good 60 foot for these cars. You should be trying to get 2.0-ish on street tires.

For two, 88 mph? If you're in Texas, your car should be doing a lot higher than that. Is this a M6 car? Are you sure it's running correctly? Your description makes it sound like you're running out of steam on the top end.

i raced a brand new 5.0 stang and his bumper was at my side mirror when we crossed and he got a 13.9 and i got a 14 03 wtf lol here is the wierd part my 1/8 mile times are better than his my 60 was better my mph at 1/8 was better and i was in front of him by 3ish feet.
Reaction time. It doesn't affect your E/T, but if he slept at the tree, you can beat a faster car..

For example... here's a race I did against a 30th Anniversary T/A that ran 12.686 @ 122.48 mph... to my Formula's 12.710 @ 108.16 mph. Note that I KILL him off the line, and as a result, I win the race by a big margin.

My reaction time: .035
His reaction time: .339

The E/T timer doesn't start until the tires cross the starting line... and the reaction time is the time from the green light until you start the E/T timer... so if you combine the reaction times with the E/Ts here you get the total race package... and the actual race ended up being his 13.025 to my 12.745. So he gave me a full .3 of a second before the race even began, and as a result he got smoked bad.

No, on an E/T the mph is how fast you were going at the finish line, it's not an average. A LS1 F-body should be doing over 100 mph on a track near sea level.

i ran a 13.07 just yesterday evening. The reason why i was trapping low is bc i was braking at the 1/8 lol. The way little river is set up is the end track time post is at 1/8 mile you have to stay in it past the two cones at the 1/4 mile. i ran 13.6 with new conti dws tires 275s and now i had half bald nitto motivos cut 2.04 60's and ran 13.07 105mph.
