I have a 1998 trans am that needs a new engine, so I found an ls1 from a 2002 trans am (all stock) to put in it. I'm wondering what incompatibilities there are and what to do.. I've heard the wiring harnesses are different, not sure to what extent, and pvc system is different.. not sure how transferable that stuff is.. The car has been tuned, so the egr valve has been removed along with the pipe going into the top of the intake. Also has SLP longtubes. Any help would be much appreciated! i think i'm in the right place lol..

Here is a helpful link to another post that will explain the differences between an earlier Ls1 and a later ls1. https://ls1tech.com/forums/new-ls1-o...-ls1-cars.html

Thanks yall! The swap went smoothly and i sold the car about a year later. There was a lifter tick and the seller told me afterwards that he had nos and a supercharger on it before. I still VERY MUCH regret selling that car. Black with tan leather, 6spd with ttops.

The last one I sold was my 1990 Camaro RS with LQ4 bored and stroked to 427 ci, using an Eagle rotating assembly. She had the T-56. When I did my LS swap, I had to make a lot of my stuff as it wasn’t a very common thing yet. The F.A.S.T. 90mm intake was one of about 3 or 4 you get. I sold the car about 10 years ago and I’ve regretted it every day since!
