Default Radiator differences 98-02 T/A

Hey guys. I am a 3rd gen T/A owner and I am swapping my engine to a 5.3 LM7 with an LS-1 intake and LS1-F accessories. I also have a problem with my stock radiator and so would like to get a 4th gen one for the ease of install.

I have a digital dash car and one of the information sensors on it is coolant level.

What are the differences between 98-02 firebird/Trans Am radiators. They are direct fits on to my car, but I need to know if there are differences between the 3.8 and 5.7 radiators that were used on these cars. Also more to what I mentioned before, which radiators come with the coolant sensor on the radiator? Thanks everyone, any help is appreciated.

No difference between 98-02 rad. I put a lt1 rad in my 01 its a little thicker cools alittle more . lt1 rad come with the sensor connection on the passenger side of the rad but its to tell you when its low not the temp . Ls cars don't have that .

Okay that's great thanks. And yea I know I don't need it but if I don't hook it up the damn thing will keep telling me that coolant is low. lol thanks again. (It's a driver information center - aka- DIC - well named- it was a two year only option.)

Yes they do. LS F-body cars also have the coolant level sensor in the same location as the LT1 radiators.

Alex, if you wanna use either radiator in your car, you'll need to get a CLS to plug the hole.

okay thanks. I need the CLS to not only plug the hole, but to keep the dash from telling me low coolant (when in fact it is not)

Image borrowed from google shows what I mean about the dash. (I'm not sure if you guys that have 4th gens know of this option on 3rd gens)

It looks great at night, but when something doesn't work, it certainly makes a point of telling you. lmao
