Default Strange headlight problem

I've read all thru this page and haven't found someone with a similar issue. I have a 1999 Firebird Converted to a LS1. First started out that when I would turn on my headlights my doors wouldn't open. I could Literally flick my fender with my finger and they both would open, they do not make any grinding noises. Have replaced headlight door control module and headlight switch. Currently i have to turn them on and off twice to get them to come up, flicking method no longer works .
I've unplugged the large plug on each side and they are corrosion free. Have sprayed arms that come off motors with lubricant. Noticed that Bump stops are worn down to metal on the closed position (could that be my problem?). I'm out of ideas! I recently upgraded to HID lights and am assuming flicking lights on and off are not good for them...

Several of us are having this intermittent problem. No definitive answers yet. See posts #1684-1691.

Default LED headlights with Sealed beam conversion housings

I was wondering if anyone has tried any of the new LED headlight bulbs with a sealed beam conversion housing in their 98-02 birds. I know folks have done it with HIDs but with the new LED modules you can get, I don't know if there is enough clearance for the cooling fan that is on the back of most of them. I'm thinking of using that for high beams instead of the halogen sealed beams.

Thanks

So I looked through this thread but couldn't find any similar issues, my low beams on my 2000 firebird are both not functioning and can't figure out why. Fog lights and high beams are functioning great, and the car has low miles so I'm thinking it's a wiring issue but can't find any thing. It doesn't look like it would be a fuse as it appears the low beams don't have their own fuse. any ideas?

Just wanted say thanks for the write up, as I did the TEMP fix to my 2001 WS6 and took maybe 15 minutes, phillips screw driver, 1/4 allen, and a 10mm socket. Oh and some liquid wrench.

My bet is the arm is getting jammed up binding. Try playing with the arm and make sure its not getting hung up on something.

Both lights (both sides) do this in unison at the same time. There's got to be some electrical link here that communicates between the two sides.

Google can only take you so far... If you read this thread, you'll find the answers you seek. Since your issue is with modern replacement equipment and not the original equipment, you may try reading the thread backwards to locate others who have had the same problem.

Using a pick you carefully remove the terminals from the connector and insert them swapped back into the connector.

Anybody have a pic? Kinda don't want to f**k. Up so I swap by putting the connections in different locations of the connectors? Pic would lead me to the promise land...

You can also use a large paperclip to release the terminal. There is a tang on the back side of the terminal. You just need to press the paperclip in to the connector body so you depress that tang. (See right side of the picture below.) Once you do, the wire and terminal will pull out of the connector body.

There are two wires coming out of the motor. Just follow them back to the connector and reverse them there.
