Things To Do With The Engine Out So I'm in the process of swapping the engine and transmission from my rundown old '01 Formula into a nice '99 Trans-Am roller I bought. I've got the powertrain out of the Formula sitting in the garage on the K-member and a furniture dolly and I'm wondering if there's maintenance I ought to do while I've got the whole thing out. I've already got to replace the starter and a power-steering line so I figured I might as well give it a good once over while I've got the wrenches out.
ALL the gaskets, seals, spark plugs and anything else that hard to reach while it's in the car. also any suspension work like ball joints and bushings since you'll probably want to have an alignment done after installing the k-member.
oh and paint the engine bay like a satin black so the engine is like a diamond in a jewelry box.

Paint the engine bay! Im kicking myself for not doing it while i had the chance with the engine out. Also like the others said do the plugs they are a breeze with the engine out! Just clean everything while you have the chance

Any advice on cleaning the engine? It's pretty dirty as the Formula was my daily driver until I started pulled the engine. So it's got dirt and grease everywhere and leaves under the fuel rails. I'm a little hesitant to pull the wire harness because I'm not sure I could put it all back on correctly lol.
Also does anyone know where I can get the electrical connector housings without having to buy the whole pigtail? Three or four of them were brittle and snapped the locking piece off.
