Well almost exactly a year later and heres how she sits now..just got the windows tinted finally after a year of driving around in a fish bowl. Also added an OEM WS6 hood, black chrome ZR1s with an adjustible panhard bar and relocation brackets.

Well since I've done quite a few things to the car this year I figured I'd update this thread. Since the last post here I've done the following to the car.

BMR subframe connectors
BMR adjustable LCAs with relocation brackets
eliminated stock power steering cooler and replaced with stand alone oil cooler
new day time running light lenses (original ones were kinda dingy)
swapped rear center tail light panel to a blank one
MSD wires with heat insulators so I dont keep burning the boots
Brian Tooley "stage 3" cam 617/.593 - 231/242 - 112 LSA
BTR .660 lift dual springs / Comp 7.4 push rods / Melling HP oil pump / new timing chain
Poly engine mounts / new stock rubber trans mount
Yank ss3600 stall converter with trans cooler
Tuned by Straightline Performance...made 415 rwhp on their mustang dyno

idle video....

thanks! The dyno numbers seem a bit high for a cam only ls1, hard to tell if its just a happy dyno or what, but it does feel pretty strong and pulls hard..track times should tell the tale.

Whear did you get the new day time running light lenses? Because mine are getting "dingy" looking also and when I do get new lens I would like to replace the regular bulb with a LED bulb because they run cooler and the new lens will last longer.

i bought them online, theres a few companies that sell them, just search 98-02 firebird daytime running lights, i think theres a part number on the front of the lense also you can try searching. As far as the LEDs go, i believe you need a "flasher" or something for them to work properly since they double as turn signals.

Just updating this thread..had the front bumper and headlight covers repainted to get rid of the ugly sandblast effect from the previous owners highway driving..also over the winter i had the oil pan gasket replaced and put in LS7 lifters, as well as having the car retuned by sound performance..drives much better now, no more surging and stalling issues.

Nice man, car looks good at that height with the painted WS6 wheels..what is the drop on those springs? Any issue with scraping your Y pipe? My plan was to replace the shocks with koni STR.Ts and just cut 1/2 of a coil out of the stock springs..I really don't want to lower the car much if i do because ill have to roll the rear fenders since the tires probably won't tuck..not to mention i hate scraping on everything..have plenty of friends with lowered fbodys and i just laugh everytime they go over a dip in the road and throw sparks when the car bottoms out. I see you're in dupage county, what town are you in? Myself and a few other fbody friends usually go out to the lombard cruise nights in the summer as well as some other local shows..bring yours out this year!

Those are factory 1996 WS6 one year only year wheels i found which they look good on my color car. Not 100% sure on the drop spec is on the springs, they are from Strano good link here on pics of others with a drop https://ls1tech.com/forums/suspensio...-pictures.html . I did not roll my 1/4's for the drop, but im on a 17x9 wheel not a 17x11 like you are running. If you are bottoming out im sure its time for a suspension upgrade, as for scraping issues lowest part of my car would be my cut out and nothing as of yet, its going to happen with a dip in the road which is expected, but my car is pretty tight will all the new suspension parts. im in lombard so i try to hit up the cruise nights when i can though out the summer season.

Mine actually rides pretty good for having 70k mile stock original shocks, it doesnt scrape now but im trying to avoid that. Im sure ill be out at lombard a few times this summer, ill have to lookout for ya.

Sparks flying when there is a dip in the road ... who could that be? Taking care of that this week ... assuming these coilovers come in.

little update..switched to some LED fogs and day time running lights, brought it to the track in october on a night with negative DA, ran two back to back 12.27 @111 passes, gotta work on the 60' times, best was a 1.78..and just put on a UMI adjustible torque arm with relocation trans crossmember...might be looking into a FLT built trans this winter or spring..the original 4l60e doesn't like the WOT 1/4 mile passes..that 2-3 shift is a little lazy.
