Just to be clear, I didn't mean to imply that issues don't ever happen with the stock brakes, or that old/worn stock brakes shouldn't be improved upon when the time comes for replacement. Just that upgrading from the factory pads & rotors (fresh ones that aren't pulsing/grinding/etc.) isn't going to deliver the kind of driving experience improvement, during the light cruising which is typical of a low mile stock garage queen, that a shock upgrade would. Of course the situation would be different for examples used in some types of racing.

I think many of the low mileage/garage queen "stock" folks would be disappointed to spend the time/money on basic brake upgrades, on cars that aren't having noticeable brake system issues, only to find that things generally feel the same for their driving purposes. On the other hand, if you have an LS1 F-body even with only 10k miles on it, never go WOT, never race the car, it will still drive noticeably better under all conditions with a shock upgrade. However swapping the stock pads and rotors just won't carry the same driving experience improvement in that exact same scenario.

bought mine basically all stock with 66k miles, with the exception of 01/02 WS6 wheels, (originals were gone before the previous owner got it). In the past 2 months I've added headers, exhaust and an SLP lid, I don't plan to mess with the exterior look of the car at all, I like how the formulas look as is, probably won't even lower it as I've seen the BS you have to put up with as far as ground clearance.

stock but not for long. my 4th f body came to me in excellent condition with 48k original miles, no dash cracks, no rips in the leather, everything the same as it was. I will be doing full exhaust and an ls6 intake swap, frost tune and kee audio package and then chill for awhile with the car like that.

My Formula has only an SLP lid with K&N filter and SLP exhaust. My Trans Am has the same plus a STB and subframe connectors and C6 Corvette wheels. The Formula looks basically stock and the TA doesn't.

My hawk is far from stock! heads, cam, intake, exhaust, and just recently an mwc fab 9". I just want to enjoy the car for a bit before I contemplate a new engine. On that note a new stereo head unit (something that is compatible with CarPlay) and those 6le seats are in the near future. Ugh and new tires to get some traction.... This stuff never ends does it???

I voted 4-10, it has full exhaust, lid, lowering springs and a stall converter. Also has other little things like tint, trans temp gauge, shorty antenna and SLP SS grille. Bought it stock with 15k miles and intended on keeping it like that but I changed my mind lol...

I wasn't expecting the Camaro responses, but what the heck. Beautiful cars. I think I still prefer one of those over the new ones, especially that 8,000 miles beauty shown a few posts above.

Just recently picked up a well taken care of 1999 Trans Am WS6 with 90k miles. It's completely stock. Well, I don't think the bolted on exhaust tips and caliper covers count as mods. This is my second 4th Gen. The first one was in 1995 when I owned a '93 Formula 6sp.

2002 ws6 m6. I'm second owner of the car. All original when I got it. I had to replace driver side window motor with a doorman motor. And I added a slp lid just to make it look smoother. Used heat gun to remove the oem ram air sticker off the oem lid and stuck it over the slp logo on new lid lol. Had a window felt guide break and rip the oem tint on driver side door and put a deep scratch in the window. Got a window replacement off another Trans am with like new felt guides...I'm battling that project right now. Driver side window has given me nothing but problems. But love the car.

My plan is to go with a stock "look". Meaning I don't want it to be blatantly obvious the car isn't stock, only because I want to keep the vibe, not hiding anything. I have a pile of parts waiting for this thing. I bought it 100% stock so I could ruin it myself. Didn't want somebody elses shitty mods but cmon, modding is so much fun. And nice to be a little older with better income, can actually afford some stuff here and there rather than mostly dreaming.

The BMR and Koni setup I put in absolutely transformed the way the car feels. The wheels are factory polished wheels that have been chromed.

I added adjustable LCA's - LCA's are a must IMO to control wheel hop.

NTO5 fronts and NTO5R rears because why not? I barely even drive it, so I can go with a "crazy" setup.

WS6store short stick on factory Hurst because c'mon, that factory handle is ridiculous. Other than that I'll keep the interior 100% stock. For some reason aftermarket radios cheapen a lot of cars, again, IMO.

There are a lot of F-bodies that come to cars n coffee. I am always most interested in modded ones. Fun to see who has what.

Just an FYI, any tinting paper on that glass would not have been OEM at all. Someone must've tinted that window prior to your ownership.

Found this old thread. I'll bite. 1999 30th Anniversary model. Stock. But I would be happy to get rid of the stock, formerly blue, corroded wheels for some nice 2002 polished wheels.

if i had a rare one and low miles i would cheat , i would do cam and gears , leave the manifolds but get a bump in the power and widen the stock wheels .
