Default 02 TA Rebuild w/ stock or crate/swap?

I have a street 2002 TA Auto. new paint rims looks awesome.
Runs srong for 150k LS1 motor but I have heavy oil leak at the rear by the back of motor. Everything else is tight, tranny feels good, new brakes, wheels, rotors, ps, gonna do koni/strano.

I am looking for a fun fast street cruiser with more juice then stock. nice to beat some new v8 or bmw/audi with ease but for now I want it leak free. LOL

So before I spend $1000 to fix rear seal then whats next, do I just bite the bullet and start a rebuild. Do the bottom end gaskets, refresh top with gaskets/cam/headers/tune (assuming leakdown is still strong) for what $2k? in the car or just pull it

if I pull it since car is in great shape and 02 ws9 I think keeping it all ls1 stock makes sense and just have a shop, pull it, check rotating, then rebuild with port, came, and some extra strength (arp, cleavite) vs crate swap.

if i pull it:
I would love a great cam sound
over 400 wheel HP love to see 450+
NA, cam,head rebuild,headers tune, converter
streetable
low 12 or faster
maybe NOS ready

If you can afford it I would pull the numbers matching engine
and store it. Have the bomb you want ready to drop in there!
