Wink buick 3.8l v6 question

Hi everybody !
I just purchased a 1979 firebird with a 231ci v6 engine. My son and I will completely rebuild the car.
I have ordered the Chilton manual and the Haynes one as well, but I wondered if there would be some workshop manual available out there for this specific car with all the info needed to rebuild this v6 Buick engine. (I'm not sure I will find anything about the v6 in the books I ordered as I think they only cover all the v8's)

Any idea ?

Thank you all and have aa good one !

Best thing you can do is go online to alldatadiy.com and pay the yearly subscription for that vehicle. It’s cheap and has all the info you’ll need.

Thank you snowbound98, been there but mine is a 79' model with the famous 3.8l v6. The construction date on the site only shows 82 (and on) models. About the engines they cover, I saw a 2.5, 2.8 and 5.0l engine, but no 3.8l. It's surprising given the incredible amount of cars that were produced with that engine back then.

I might find another car model equipped with that 3.8l but then I would probably miss all the other info regarding mine. (electrical, bodywork, suspension, etc...)

I will check that anyway, thanks once again

The Chilton manual for that year should have the info you need. Haynes manual isn't going to give you much beyond the basics. I wouldn't buy any more until you get the chance to look at what you already got.

Thank you Bleepster and Bammax ! That is great info. I'll do that. I'm still waiting for the manuals to come. I will check them aand see if there is all what I need in there.
My son and I plan on completely rebuilding the car (total strip down). My guess is that it will take quite some time (maybe years) as we will do that by ourselves. We both have a fulltime job so this will be a "w.e. only" occupation.
Bleepster, that is very kind of you, thank you. I think you made my day !
I pm you my @!
Have you both a great one !
