Default Smoke coming from engine bay

This last week I’ve had an issue while driving my 1997 trans am. I’ll stop at a light and my car will start to smoke from under the hood. I’ve pulled over and turned my car off and inspected, and the smoke is coming from behind the computer but toward the heater hoses(hoses aren’t leaking) the smoke smells strongly off coolant and I just replaced my head gaskets in August and see no leaks in the engine bay. My buddy thinks it’s my heater core because it does take a while for the heat to start semi working. I had a problem in September to where the coolant was back flowing through the reservoir and I had a bad radiator cap but fixed that. What could be my issue? I’ve searched high and low for answers on the internet and asking family and friends. Please let me know what you think!

Bypass the heater core and see if that solves your problem.

Oh yeah and either put proper coolant or distilled water in your system. Rust is not our friend!
