does anyone know what could be wrong with my latch or latch mechanism? i was working in the back area today and now when i go to shut the hatch, it will go until the ring on the latch hits the release mechanism and it is hitting something that will not move...... does anyone know how to fix this or what it might be?? its just annoying because now my latch wont shut, TIA

Did you accidently shut the latch without the hatch down?
Try the release button a few times to open the latch mechanism, & then try to shut it again after that, ...

i tried hittin the button a lot of times and it does move, but then when i go back to shut it it still wont shut.........

maybe put some lithium grease on the catch....worked for me

ok, tried the key and still wouldnt shut...... its not the spring lever either cuz i completely removed the spring and took tension off the spring lever and tried to shut it and it still wouldnt shut, so its the latch mechanism for sure...... any other thoughts?? i dont wanna take it to the dealer and this sure doesnt seem like it should be that hard to fix

I got an idea...look..and see what its hitting...then try to fix that ...obviously something isn't wear it belongs..if you know someone with a car just liek yours look at his latch mechanism..then compare it to yours..thats waht id do
