97 registered cars last weekend in Hayesville, NC. No trophy for mine as the judges rarely give them out to 'newer' models at this show. Just a few photos to share including some other Firebirds. I parked next to a Hellcat that the owner bought new for $65k.
Some nice rides there. Especially that red T/A 'vert.
I finally made it to a local cars & coffee event this past Saturday. There were maybe a dozen cars there in the ~1.5 hrs I was hanging out, including another black 2000 WS6 coupe and a black T/A coupe w/ a WS6 hood. The rest were mustangs, a '32 Ford coupe w/ a Buick V8 w/ 3 carbs, and my friend's '76 'Vette. I did see a BMW 135 buzz through the lot, but I don't think he even got out of his car. I was told that the first event here had about 400 cars and over-filled the parking lot. We suspect that with the nice weather and our close proximity to numerous lakes, that most of those folks were out of town for the weekend. I'll be taking my Cutlass the next nice Saturday.
Nice! I know what you mean about newer cars not getting much love.
I like when some shows have a "2000+ newer" category. I really don't want to take a Top 20 from a nice 1968 GTO or 442 or something old and presented well.
@JohnnyBs98WS6Rag, Thanks for the kind words. Cruise-ins are always enjoyable along with the C&C events. If I lived near a major city it would be a highlight every month to see all the exotics and great rides. I'm tempted to make the 2+ hour drive to Atlanta some Saturday morning to attend one. It's been awhile.
