Default LED Headlight Plug Question

Hey everyone,

I'm looking to upgrade my high and low beams to LED's and I'm looking to avoid the high cost of buying a kit from late model lighting. I have found a few kits that offer the headlights that will fit perfectly but the bulbs that it comes with don't appear to match up to our factory harness. So my question is in order to make LED's work is there an LED bulb that will plug into our factory harness or do I need to upgrade the plugs something like this: Advance Auto Parts. If that's what I need to do do I need to get a different plug for the low beams then the high beams?

I just did the fog lights, (that was fun)... but they look great. Side note, anybody know why GM put a more updated plug for the fog lights and leave that old *** plug for the headlights...?

So I'm glad you brought that up, I can't find this kit. When I searched here, the old links either doesn't work or that web page no longer exists. I can find the headlights by themselves. It looks like it's item number 36-0302/ 36-0303. Is there another kit on their site that comes with everything?

Back when this car was designed, auto light bulb technology was evolving and these assortments were changing. I expect that's why it feels that we have a mixed bag.

Here is a thread where I changed the physical plugs, if you are interested. (If you don't already have the proper crimpers, this is a several hundred dollar investment.) https://ls1tech.com/forums/wiring-st...ht-option.html

Thank you! I have crimpers but they're not quite as heavy duty as yours i may need to invest in a pair like that.

So I took a closer look at the items according to the description its just a housing and bulb, no adapter harness... Does anyone have old link or part number for the harness?

Any chance you know what our factory plug is called? I'm trying to see if I can find any kind of adapter.

And I'm totally fine with that, but the problem is LED bulbs don't have the goofy headlight connector that's on our cars. My only hold up right now is finding out if there is an adapter or if I need to find another two wire plug to match the 9005/9006 bulbs, (that is what you guys are using for high and low beams correct?)

the connectors are keyed....low beam ...1 slot....high...2

usually the LEDs are generic keyed....accept either one
