Banshee in the future?
I doubt it will happen, but wouldn't it be cool if pontiac was finally given the go ahead on the banchee. For those of u not up on histiry, the banchee was the concept car John Delorean wanted to build for pontiac, but would of been direct competition agaisnt the corvette. we got stuck with the firebird instead.

I do not think they will use the name Banshee (something to do with the meaning of it). But to see a Firebird again with direct competition to a vette would be sweet.

the meaning had nothing to do with why they didn't use it. If that was the case then the 3 banchee concepts would of had a different name. A pontiac 2 seater with power would be great though.

The name had everything to do with it. The Firebird was originally supposed to be called the Banshee. Until Pontiac found out what it meant. A hagish wailing creature that was a sign of impending doom. Not something that will sell cars to well.

Only, that's not exactly what a Banshee is. It's a spirit (well, we know now in reality it's wind, but, that's another matter lol) of a woman that died during child birth, who is wailing (not screaming) in mourning for a death that is about to occur.
Which is a bit darker and a bit more sad.....
However, it does well commercially. Remember the Yamaha Banshee 4-wheeler? That was the baddest of the bad racing 4-wheelers.

I new it was something close to that. This was also in the sixties. Now, nobody cares about a cars name. Murano (MORONo) Ascender (ASSender) Tourauge (TOE RAG)
