I'm pretty sure there weren't any Trans Am's out in 1926 so I doubt this car is legit.

Ok I haven't muddled through all the posts in this thread. But I have to interceed.
Pontiac in 1976 mad a 50th anniversary trans am, yes 50th. It celebrated the 50th anniversary of Pontiac, NOT the trans am. While this particular car may be a celebration of the 75th anniversary of Pontiac, I highly doubt it. I have never heard any press on it,or seen any write ups on it. If you still have doubts contact Jim Mattison at PHS with your vin number and he may be able to help.

You havent actuall read any of the posts have you?

Its the 75th Aniversary of Pontiac, not the Firebird.

Yes the 75th Aniversary package is real. I bought my car new. I did plenty of reasearch before I bought it (as I do with any large purchase). When the Firebird was still listed in the new car section of www.cars.com, the 75th Aniversary package was listed as one of the options. There wasn't much advertisement for it (or any for the f-body for that matter). I do remember that the dealership I bought my car at was thoroughly decorated with 75th Aniversary paraphenalia.

One of the posts has a link to an article that mentions the 75th Aniversary package.

A 75th anniversary Trans Am? LOL, what idiot started that? That would mean it was made in the 20's-30's? The Trans Am debuted in '69, so '02 is typically the T/A's 33rd year. The Firebird was started in '67 with the Camaro, so '02 Firebird's are the 35th year.

LOL.. I love the people making comments on how the firebird was started in the 60's so this package is not possible etc.. Apparently there are a lot of people who never bother to read the posts in the thread before they post.

For those saying that this package isnt real....

PLEASE READ THE THREAD FROM THE BEGINING!.

The 75th Anniversary package refers to the age of the Pontiac brand. The 75th Anniversary package was offered on other Pontiac vehicles at the time also. Its only a collection of popular trim options put into a "package".

I hate to bring back a dead thread, but has anybody ever found out the actual build numbers for the Formulas with the 75th Anniversary package? I havent heard of any T/As with it, but I do still have my window sticker off of mine with the 75th package listed on it. I have been searched for years trying to figure out how rare my car actually is. From what I can tell, they made them in black and NBM, never heard of any other color. Does anybody have ANY info?

I saw a red one a few years ago at the Trans Am Nationals. As far as specific build totals, you'll probably have a very hard time finding any good info. Us guys with 2000 'birds are in a similar situation.

I can't believe someone found this old thread.

I got a 75th Pontiac TA that is Sunset Orange Metallic. After doing some digging previously on the badge I found that it came with... nothing extra... Even the Grand Prix's got similar badges for them like the 75th on the Firebirds/Formula/TA. I will throw the last 8 digits of VIN up later today or tomorrow to find out any info on the car and see if maybe something else can be found on it.

I know on NADA.com or KBB.com that it is an option and when I chose it (pricing car before I bought it) it added 5k value to the price tag of the car. You would think there is something significantly special done to it, but guess not. Also looking back through my Firebird History book and it even describes it as an option tacking on an extra few $$ from the factory. Will have to scan page and possibly post or at least post more details on it later!

You need to read all the posts to this thread....it was the 75th Anniversary of Pontiac....not the Firebird model itself.

There's a lot of people who need to read from the beginning & then just keep it to themselves.

(Not aimed toward you! It's the ones with the ridiculous replies with typing comments & not knowing the whole truth.)

It wasnt until yesterday that I realized that the 75th Anni. wasnt just a Formula thing. Until then, I had thought that they slapped the badge on the car just to try to get rid of a few extra parts before the end of the F-Bodies.

And yeah, I'm surprised I found this thread too.
Unlike others, I found that the Search button works wonders!

My point exactly. Since you didn't bother to read through all the replies, you decided to post this pointless response. If you don't have time to read through it in order to post a more logical response, then don't post at all.

I decided to remove my responses since they weren't "logical" as you state. Delete your post as I've deleted mine, stop filling this dead thread. Goodnight.
