They made 122 of them. That's about all you can really find out there for info, more detailed breakdown is tough to come across..

Start by telling us what year. Or if you prefer, check the links on the first page of this post.

You are in luck, I do have color breakdowns for the '98 WS6s......

Color / Total / TA Coupe / TA Vert / Formula / Form Vert
White / 254 / 185 / 47 / 22 / 0
Silver / 255 / 182 / 37 / 36 / 0
Purple / 12 / 9 / 2 / 1 / 12 / 0
Gold / 65 / 52 / 6 / 7 / 65 / 0
NBM / 30 / 21 / 8 / 1 / 30 / 0
Red / ? / ? / ? / ? / ? / 2 <- One A4 w/ Blk top, one M6 w/ Wht top
Black / ? / ? / ? / ? / ? / 0
Total '98 WS6 Prod. * / 3086 / 2273 / 339 / 221 / 2

* From http://lair.evyl.org/1998-Firebird_P...on_Numbers.htm

I can look up the ASC build# of your '98 WS6 if you PM me your VIN. NOTE my database is missing VINs of the black and red '98 WS6s, which is why I don't have breakdowns for those colors.

Well it was nice to find some numbers for the Maple Red, even if it was the last year numbers, still can't find numbers for the 2000 year, all I know not many of them at all.

I can't determine your original color from the VIN (although a GM dealership could using their database, it's not actually part of the VIN). I'd need your color code from the RPO sticker on the driver's-side door frame. If you don't know which is the color code, just post everything that it says on the sticker.
his color is navy blue metallic. i have the same color. It is a nice dark blue in dark and shade, but in bright sunlight and cerain lighting conditions it has a purpleish color to it.

I'm trying to understand all of the M6 and 1LE and A4 stuff. What does it all mean?!?!?! and how do I ind out what my car is? Is it the label on the door jam? And how can I figure out what all of the letters and numbers mean? Is there a chart?

M6 = Manual 6 Speed
1LE = Option Package with less glam and more Go-Go (like no power options, but better suspension)
A4 = Automatic 4 speed

You won't see M6 or A4 on your RPO sheet. It's just net jargon.

There are RPO sheets all over the net.

Here's my fav.

I hate to dig up an old thread, but I was reading through this and remember something that I read a while back somewhere else. You all were talking about that Purple color that is similar to the NBM that is on many other cars. I read that only like 24 rolled off the line with the Purple metallic paint. GM ran into problems with the paint and used a different mixture with ended up being the NBM paint. They discontinued the purple and continued with the nbm. I'll do some more digging and see if I can find that article anywhere and post it here.

462 Purple '98 Firebirds (includes base Firebirds, Formulas, T/As, HT, TT, Verts & WS6s all totaled) were built, the rarest model was the Firebird 'vert w/ only 20 built.

12 Purple WS6s were built, 2 TA 'verts, 1 Formula and the rest were TA T-tops.
