So do you fellow Formula owners get "Nice T/A!" from people who don't know any better? I had a rant about this in the General Auto Discussion Section. I'll try not to repeat it here, but it aggrevates the Hell outta me. You too?

I would agree, formulas are the lean street fighter as opposed to the bulky wrestler that is the T/A.
I have 2 formulas, a Gunmetal Grey 1990 formula TPI and a Black 2000 RamAir Formula WS6. The 2000 was ordered as a formula but was equipped with the T/A appearance package: ground effects, nose, spoiler. It also has the functional ramair from the factory, along with the WS6 package. Complete suspension upgrades from Koni, lowered 3 inches. Only 233 of these cars were made.
Oh and insurance on a formula will always be cheaper too.

My 98 is listed as a Trans Am/Formula, if it has a V8 it will be listed that way with quite a few insurance companies. The vin on the 79 says 301, so it gets cheap rates even though it has a nasty 467 in it.

With a lil drop, nice tips, wide wheels in the back. Personally i think it looks more like a race car than the T/A. Not saying this either cause i happen to only a formula. I just have always felt like that.

I've wanted a Firebird Formula (of any year except 1993-1997) since I was 3 years old. After 20 years of waiting, I finally picked up my Formula yesterday!!!! 1999 Pewter Firebird Formula M6, it has a few little quirks that need to be fixed eventually but nothing that effects day the driving/operation day to day.

Well I guess I will chime in as well...
It is a 97 Formula hardtop,
WS6 1LE
M6, cloth, black
The WS6 breakdown in 97 was 476 Formula cars
The 1LE makes it 1-14 All were Formulas (no T/As that year were 1LE)
I am slowly bringing it back to life the previous owner didn't know what they had and didn't take good care of it.
It currently has a worked over 355 with ported LT4 heads cc306 cam and other goodies.
it has a long way to go ie: paint and I am also going to dress up the interior some how maybe cover it in vinyl IDK, but at least now she runs hard. (except when I drove through a lake where the road used was minutes before, that put her down for a day till it dried out
)
sorry for the crappy cell pics
