just picked up a 99 NBM formula with a 6 speed and I love it!! I was looking for a TA but I came across a good deal on the formula. I like the fact that you don't see many and although it looks like a V6 I still think its sleek where as the TA has more of an aggresive look.

I had a 75 Formula 400 but the oil pump went out on Christmas day. I would give up my Camaro in a second to get that car back, it was my first. That Christmas was **** poor.

Anyone know where I can get the breakdown on the 02 Formula's, specifically how many have the firehawk package? TIA!
The official numbers for 2002 never did get released from SLP, but you can see previous years here http://www.faoa.com/list/1024.html. The unoffical number for Formula Firehawks is 167 out of 1505 total Firehawks. Also there were only 901 Formula's built for 2002 so a pretty rare bird. Welcome to the Formula Firehawk club be sure to register with http://www.faoa.com, you may find some info on your new car in there look here http://www.firehawkowners.com/year/2002.html.

I had a 99 T/A. I traded it in to get my formula.

Before I got my T/A I didn't like the rear wing on them, but after having it, I learned to like it.

What I really hated about my T/A was the leather seats, and that is why I got a formula over a T/A the second time around.

Oh, then I didn't pay the extra for the crappy factory hurst shifter like my T/A had. My first new mod for the formula was the Pro 5.0.

From what I've gathered there were only like 63 '01 formula's without the Hurst shifter. I don't know the color break down.

Mine is just a Firebird V6. But to be honest, I've always loved the fomula on the 4th gens. In fact, when I was shopping around previous to the purchase of my current car, I was specifically looking for a formula, but they are hard to come by. I like the body styling over the TA personally. I searched on eBay and in my local Auto Trader, but there was too big of a price jump between a regular firebird and the formula, mostly I guess due to the V8. In any case, there was a very low selection of "formulas" versus TA and firebird. I wonder if Pontiac just made less of these cars.

And what's this about single exhaust? Mine had dual from the factory.
I like the improvement of the nose from 97 to 98. I do like the TA nose better though. However, I always preferred the standard spoiler on the 4th Firebird/Formula. I never really got used to the spoiler of the TA.. in my opinion it extends too far out. Its growing on me, but my ideal design would be a TA body (hard top) with a standard spoiler.

Yes, far less were made, only 901 Formulas in the last year of production. I believe the numbers were just as few for 2001's. Possible more for 2000 as that was the last year for a WS6 Formula.
