Unhappy is this common for the ls1

my ls1 has 71,000 on it i started it up yesterday afternoon and white smoke started coming out the exhaust, it has never happened before so i called a couple of friends and they said check the oil and antifreeze well i checked the oil and it was good a little low ( it has never been low before ) so i checked the antifreeze and it seemed to be really runny and have oil in it, does this mean my ls1 is dead, dying or what it still runs very strong and doesnt over heat, after the car warmed up the smoke went away the only thing i did to it that day was file down egr a little bit more but i dont think that had anything to do with it, what do you guys think could be causing this

Sorry but sounds like a headgasket. Time for some heads and a cam.

Go back to the dealership and show them. This is definately something THEY should have to fix.

I may be wrong, but running the green "old style" antifreeze shouldn't be a problem.......providing the dex cool was completly flushed from the system before it was put in.

Good heads and a cam will cost you waaay more than that. First thing I'd do is take it somewhere and have the green stuff totally flushed outof the system and ave them put in new fresh coolant (the red/orange stuff) that's made for the car. Drive it a couple of days and recheck. Either way if you have oil in your coolant then you have to replace a head gasket.
