My car is stock besides a lid/filter. I recently went on a 350 mile one way trip, with alot of that in the mountains, and got 26.47 mpg driving 75ish mostly and 80 at times. I believe in flatter terrain 28-29 or higher could be acheived. I have beat on it pretty good for a whole tank and still got 20 mpg I love this thing

Hmmmm...yeah mine is still doing like 150 per full tank... I have been driving pretty "wild" this last tank of gas though.

Did I miss what your driving mostly? All city? Some Hwy?

All city w/ nasty traffic I get 200 miles to the tank. Usually more but never less. I shift 1,3,4 or 5 pretty often. LID and Magnaflow muffler. I will soon install Longtubes and TR230 we'll see what that does

It really sounds like something is wrong man. Wish I could offer more than what has already been said.

With pretty spirited driving on a daily basis, I just calculated mine to 18.6mpg for this month so far.

I just drive my normal way. We have max speed limits out here of 65, but i usuually drive 75ish. Light on the gas. Like I said in my earlier post best ever was 30.5 and I was averaging 78 mph. At the time the car was bolt on only. Mac, ory, gmmg, pulley, and some free mods and tuning. I just got done installing 5.3 heads, cam and the car with the old tune got 25.6 and once I dynoed it I found that the car is stupid rich. At the start of the run the AFR is 12.8 and goes down from there to 10.0 from 5,000 rpm up. Once the thing gets tuned the way the car drives it might get better than 30 again.

Ps On the dyno we removed the K=n filter and I picked up 16 Rwhp and 13 Rwt. I guess itwas plugged a little. Later John

Thats pretty normal for an auto, the guys getting close to 30 mpg have six-speeds.

Dont we (01-02 I think) have the 16.7 gallon gas tank?
If so, then you were averaging around 17mpg.

Am I calculating something wrong or what?

1994 Trans-Am. I'm getting about 10 in the city, and around 18 on the highway (if I'm lucky). My ABS inop is the only light I have on.

I just got about 250 miles out of a full tank.
Thats with me romping on it a few good times, driving with the A/C blasting most of the time, and in 90-100 degree weather.
So thats not too bad at all if you ask me...

I usually get about 200 driving around town and Im wondering if this tank may hit almost the 300 mile point on the highway. If anyone is getting poor mileage Try

Check tire pressure / alignment and tire tread as well
Changing your oil prefferably with some synthetic
Run some fuel injector cleaner
Check up on the maintenance and perform anything that is past due ( The how to section of this board can save you alot of time and money)
Try having a softer foot and shifting sooner is logical as well
