1/4mile time differances Hello All,
Im just wondering what kind of 1/4 time differances I should expect if I have an 4th generation T/A Automatic as opposed to a Manual, assuming both cars are the same.

The A4's will be slightly slower, but not by a ton. Maybe a couple of tenths. My '99 Trans Am A4 ran 13.509 @ 102.5 bone stock, M6 cars at the same track were typically running 13.3s.

Automatics are typically more consistent in drag racing too. That's why automatics are so popular in bracket racing.

as mentioned, auto will typically be a little slower (provided a decent driver) due to the fact that a manual trans car will lose less power than an automatic. Autos are more consistent, and thus as Y2K mentioned, more popular in drag racing.

its more complicated than a4 vs m6, there's more to consider than just speed, a m6 will get better gas milage (on long trips ) , last longer, and are cheaper on insurance, but the a4s are more reliable, and easy , but then you get into gearing , and everything else, i just got the car i liked and stuck my nose up at anyone who said i should've gotten a m6 instead of a a4 3.23
