Default Help!

Not sure if this is in the right post area, but i hope so.

Will going thru a drive-in resturant, i noticed that at next to idling speeds and slow acceleration, that when i tap on the brakes, my formula downshifts extremly hard. I mean HARD! I can feel the whole car rear back and shift before it jerks forward. Could my tranny be taking a dump? Or could it be that lifter i suspected not too long ago causing some mischief?

My formula used to be a hot rodder. The previous owner used it for street racing only and made alot of modifications that were corrected as far as i can tell. Could this be because of it? Because i dont dog an engine as much as it was used to being dogged? I know that if you baby an engine all your life, its best not to sell it and let that person race the hell out of it. Then if you abuse an engine all its life, it becomes used to it ( semi-tolerant ) until it breaks down.
