Default headlights go up and down when I lock/unlock using the key fob?

Weird I have never had that happen. Is there a feature I need to turn off? something mixed up? Can't figure it out Has anyone had this problem or know what I am talking about?

Thanks in advance.

I just went out in the garage and double checked. When I lock I get the double horn, all the lights come on and the headlights come up and down, but do not turn on. When I unlock I get everything the same except the horn.

hmmm anyone?

Mine used to do that... Half of my headlight gear was stripped out so I did the whole headlight procedure where you manually turn the motor halfway so it uses the other half of the gear and when I bolted everything back together it stopped doing it. I dont know if it will do the same for yours but that seemed to be the problem with mine.

I believe they do that to tell you the motors are going out.

lol..i think its in the connector. the fact that they stop doin it when you do the motor gears is just coincedence cause you have to disconnect the connector to do it. i would check the plugs for corrosion, but if you've had issues with your gears grinding in the motors than you'll wanna do them anyway. hope this helps..good luck.

Mine do it also....But they also make that nasty "errrrrruuuuuhhnnnn" noise when the driver side headlight goes down, because I need to move the gear lol...

Mine started doing it on my 96' WS-6, it started when the motor's were taking a ****, I ******* hated it, 'cause everytime they went up, the gears were grinding and it was loud and obnoxious. Make a long story short, I changed the motors and it stopped popping up when I used the fob. Good Luck.

Well I am both lights apart and letting some liquid wrench soak in. I can't budge those freakin arms off the motors .

its not the motor its just the gear, you can get a new gear from bfrankers site for 40$ made of machined metal whereas gm charges like 150$ for a new plastic one.

that's exactly the sound it makes....just a little bit longer

it's embarassing...If i go anywhere, i make sure to turn the lights off while i'm still moving so that my exhaust overpowers that terrible sound...

That's just silly. The connection system just delivers the power/signal, if it was at fault it wouldn't have power to it at all, or intermittent contact which would show it driving down the highway due to bumps and vibration.
It is the change of resistance affecting the limit switch on the motor. The teeth on the gear are ground down the motor keeps turning even after the door is down, until it reaches enough resistance to turn the motor off. My terminals didn't have any signs of corrosion when I had the issues with my bird. I did look at the connection system since I design the inspection tools for the components.

YUP .... it's the gear 100% for sure... change or turn the gear 180' and it will be okay.....
