I did the fix today, thanks bandit for the write up & pictures, It helped a lot..You can notice the crack(looks like a scratch)on the passenger panel, drivers panel is good, can't see hardly anything. I hope this fix holds up as I show the car a lot..It would look like chit with cracks down the door panels . Also replaced the drivers power window motor..Only took about 4hrs to do everything

Add me to the list too. I had no idea this was a common issue until I found this thread. My passenger side cracked a couple years ago and just got worse over the years. Its all the way down to the leather in the door. I'm just going to replace the panel for now.
On a related note. Anyone know if you can transfer the leather off a door panel to transplant on the replacement door panel? I found one but it dosen't have the leather like my car does.
Any help would be appreciated.

The leather inserts is molded in there from behind with these plastic fastners. One time deal it can be done but when you cut them out there is nothing really left to reattach everything.
And then I believe the leather ones had a different plastic lower tray to hold the dual speakers, at least I know the WS6 cars are that way.

Basically I would need to cut them out in the shape of where you see them and use some kind of adhesive? - Is that more or less what your saying?

There is a whole bunch of plastic spikes similiar to the end of a golf tee. Then once it's thru.......GM melts the end into a circle like a flat washer. And that's basically how the insert and lower tray is held on.
I guess you can grind or drill the plastic **** off to free everything. But once you do that, I don't really see how you can reattach it back as there will be nothing left. Maybe you can try using small self tapping screws and washers from the back side.

I have to chime in too. My 02 is garage kept and only has 11K on it, and my door panels are starting to crack too. The passenger side is real bad. Not a "crack" yet, but you can see the white line.

I try to convey to everyone that even if you don't have cracks the possibility that you will is Great. Better to take action before you have to worry about how to replace your entire door panel.

My driver side panel was barely cracked when i bought mine with 42k miles. Now both sides have full blown cracks in the panels, but for some reason it doesnt even bother me.

UPDATE Cracked Interior Door Panels
Just wanted to let you all know I am in contact with a Customer Service Rep at Pontiac and we are working to find a resolve. Has anyone else contacted Pontiac in regards to the issue? If so what is your request number? Right now I haven't heard anything but they did open a request to have the problem investigated and they read through the sticky on here about it.
