Talking TTA #301 back home with pics!

I picked up the TTA today, and am very pleased with the results.
The car isn't a show car, but it looks pretty freaking awesome!
It's got new front fender liners, new nose emblem and the fender emblems were removed to replace with a new set (from Car Motorsports) that didn't come in before I picked up the car. Honestly, I think it looks better without them and may not put them back on the car.
The wheels came out beautiful, and are stunning in person. They were stripped, any edge damage smoothed out, centers painted and clear coated, and the lips polished. There is no clear on the lips, and they can even be polished more than they are now. I have a new set of centercaps on order, but these are in great shape. You'll also notice that it's wearing all new tires (BFG G-force Sports and BFG DR's).
Next up are a few minor interior items...recover the steering wheel, a new console and shift plate, clean the seat belts, etc. I'm going to put the TE44 and a set of 50's on it in the next week or two. I think the 44 might end up being too small with these heads and cam...but I'm going to run it for now.
Anyway...on to some pics...

Looks very nice. I think the emblems should be reapplied though, personally. (makes me miss my '89 GTA even more )

It looks like your hood and headlight covers don't like up totally. Is that just a trick of the photos? Seems that area was a real pain for the OEM to get matched up.

Yeah...I think it's a trick of the photos and the way the light is hitting the seams. The hood lines up fine with the fenders, but the light covers might need a bit of "tweaking". They were off (with all the hood vents as well) when the hood was shot.
My body/paint guy said the car hasn't had a hit and I believe it.

Those are sweet cars. Probably the only 3rd gen I'd consider driving around.

Talking

Tony,
It's a neat car...rides like a truck, but it's enjoyable in an "80's sort of way".

The Turbo Trans Am was the 89 Anniversary Trans Am. It was more or less a GTA in white, with the GNX 3.8 Turbo engine and special badging.

The GTA ran from 1987 to 1992 and was the top end Trans Am. Sorta like the 4th Gen WS6 vs non. It had the WS6 suspension package, and upgraded everything. Monotone paint (IIRC, the regular T/As had two tone), gold snowflake rims (as seen above), special badging, stereo controls on the steering wheel and the VATS key anti-theft system (my '88 had it, not sure if the '87s did or not though).

To be honest, I'm not sure which features the basic Trans Am didn't have that the GTA did have, but the GTA was definitely the top of the line model with a very distinct presence.

As for engines, it was pretty much the same choices as the regular T/A, AFAIK - 305 if you wanted the 5 speed, or 350 with an auto ('88 had the L98 engine with the reverse flow cooling system. Not sure if that ran from beginning to end or not though).

Beautiful car! You'll probably enjoy the TE44. It spools like mad on the street especially with ported heads. Liquified tires anyone? The 50s will work well too especially with a good chip. Have fun with the TTA!

Looks really clean, congrats! I sold #365 to get my Formula. But will always have a soft spot for the TTA.
