Default 1985 Trans Am

Hello, I own a 1985 Trans Am and I am doing some interior work. I need to know how to remove the shift **** so that I can take the center console out. If anyone could give me some instructions I'd really appreciate it.

thank you

There should be a little "staple" thing on the back of the **** facing the dash board. Pull that out with some pliers and DON'T LOSE IT! Once you pull that staple out, just lift the **** off. You can put the car all the way down in 1st gear if you need to see it.
