When my motor in my 97 T/A it never made a clicking sound. It just got slower, and slower. Then it just died. For the switches, I have no idea where or even if you could get some. Good luck though.

Getting some isn't an issue. I just could've sworn the LS1 cars had backlit switches. My Formula doesn't, I figured the T/As might have got them. The plastic around mine were painted and I need to replace em, so I figured I'd upgrade at the same time if the backlit ones exist.

Nope, no backlit switches. That's why there is a little red bulb shining down on them from the door handle bezel. Not very bright light, some people replace them with a single LED.
As for the window, it don't make any noise when it dies. It just moves slower and slower. Eventually, it will only go up one inch, then stop. You hold the button and nothing. Wait like 5 minutes, hit the button, up one more inch then stop. Took me like 25 minutes to roll up my window. Replaced the motor a day later.

Try cleaning it
My experience is that window switches generally just need a good cleaning. I don't think they seal them well enough and dust and grime gets in ther and they don't make contact. A lot of them weren't made to be taken apart and cleaned so it might take a little determination. Be careful not to break it though. You didn't say which window didn't work. If it is the passenger side that won't go up you should still try cleaning the switch on the driver's side. I know it sounds stupid but the passenger side window on my Malibu wouldn't go back up and I tried just swapping a switch from the back door to the front with no success. The motor tested out fine. I took the switch on the driver's side apart and it was nasty. A little cleaning of the terminals and it works like a charm. I guess it is wired through the driver's side first.Good luck!

I think it might be the motor. The drivers side will stop rolling up like 1/2 an inch from the top sometime, get back in the car later and it will roll the rest of the way up. The passenger side has also had random brokenness once already too.
