Which makes me wonder... did they not change anything on the 4th gens body/frame through out its production life??

Except I have a Firebird, and my understanding was interior panels were a bit diff in the back, no? Since the Camaros didn't have dual rear hatch speaker setups (or did they lol, I'm not a Camaro guy).
Either way, the amp is NOT mounted there y2k. WhiteBird00 clued me in on where it is, so no worries. It's on the driver side under the sail panel speaker panel next to the seats Hopefully the plug is the same, so I can direct swap. Even if the space isn't big enough (which I doubt it is, since they moved it for later models), I'll just lengthen the plug wire.
As far as a stealth box, I have no desire for bass to drowned out what sound I have. If anything I'll just upgrade the sail panel mid-bass to something more quality for a more pure sounding bass. The 10 speaker setup doesn't need subs unless you're hell bend on cranking the think up past Ear Bleed. I really like how it sounds with the style music I listen to. The Electronic-Techno-Industrial music sounds great, gets the lows just right and I can still hear the music. I have some fine-tuning to do with music like Tool and Static-X though. Shouldn't be hard, probably just have to turn down the bass.

I can tell you right now the factory 10 speaker setup sucks no matter what. I ahve it in my 01 Formula.
I even replaced the fronts with a Infinity component setup and the sail panels with a 6" Infinity Kappa speaker and there still is very little mid bass or bass.
I even kept the rear speakers which are a 4" and a 1" tweeter just for rear fill. If you can find the MTX proform speaker/amp setup that goes in there it is not bad, does not have a huge amount of bass but what I would call just the right amount for a good fill in for what the stock setup is missing.
That area was empty on my 01, like was said has a piece of carpet in there. The Pontiac cars were the only ones to get the 10 speaker setup on the LT1 cars, I think the Camaros got the Bose setup instead.
