This is a good source of info. Go to www.f-body.org

The Olds 403 is really not a preferred engine for any TA. You want to try to find one with the Pontiac 400. In 77 and 78, the 400 was available with an automatic or a stick. In 79, all of the 400's were left over 78 engines and only available with a stick.

In 79, the Pontiac 301 was available with an auto or 4 speed as well. This engine is a dog with fleas.

Might be looking to sell my 79 10th Anniversary TA. The car has 19000 documented miles but it sat in someones garage for 12 years. Needs an exterior and interior cosmetic resto but would be worth big $$$$ when done. Still has the original tires!
