Woohoo, Got my Firebird!
I bought a Firebird yesterday, registered today so I was finally able to drive it... man I love it! It's so comfortable and is so much more fun to drive than the SUVs and Minivans I've been driving. This is the first car I've owned (driven parents' cars previously) and I couldn't be happier. It is a Black 2000 Base Firebird (so I guess it's not an LS1 correct?) with 69K miles + TTop roof. It's in great shape with only minor scratches n' stuff and was maintained by the same mechanic all its life. I paid $7500, which I think was a fair deal all around - the car was also delivered to me at no extra charge. Also, I'm paying about the same for full coverage insurance with Geico than my friends are paying for their non-sports cars!! I'm only 19 so the rates are pretty high for any car. I'll post pics soon.

Congrats on the new ride.

Insurance shouldn't catch on and the '89 Anniversary with the Turbo V6 was a beast.Of course, if you find something with an LS1 that was totaled in the rear you could manage that swap fairly easily and cheaply too I guess.
Out of curiosity, anybody know the weight of the V6 used in the base Firebird?

, so i guess the supercharger that i have waiting to go in will have to do
brings me back to when i first bought my firebird (formula) ... i had to drive from buffalo, ny area to NJ to pick it up, drove it home (and for the first time) in pouring rain for most of hte ride, but when i was comign back into NY, it was nice and dry... so when i was leaving the tollbooths near my house, i was going about 20mph and just stomped on it and it broke the tires loose!!
i was grinning the rest of the way home.
