Default Change Oil Light

This light came on about a month and a half ago, so I changed the oil...the light still comes on when I crank my car and then goes off after driving a while, just as it would when you actually needed to change your oil.

What is causing this? Should I be worried?

Turn the key forward but do not start the car and hold down your trip reset untill the light shuts off. Since your new here I would advise you to use the search feature. It has alot of information.

Example :

to get the chang oil light off.....

turn the key to start, but do not start the car. push the gas pedal to the floor, do that 3 times. Then turn the car off. That is how it goes away

The light probably wasn't resent during the oil change.

Here is an alternate method to reset it:
Turn the key to the on position (don't start car)
Push and hold trip/reset button until oil light flashes or goes out (5-10sec typically)
