Smile new 67 326.. help?

Hey.. just joined this site.. recently bought a 1967 Firebird 326 that is basically all stock. The piston heads need to be cleaned and polished. Once this is done, how much will this help increase the engine's performance and any other tips on how to add some muscle would be greatly appreciated by anyone and all

Swap in a similar vintage 400 or 428 and leave the 326 emblems.JMO
326 isn't a bad engine it just doesn't make the brute torque that the 400's do.
