Default 6-speed in a 68 firebird

I am wanting to put a 6-speed in my 68 bolting to a sbc. Its already a stick car but what all will I need to make this work. Hopefully someone out there has done this.

I put a LS1 model T56 into my 70 camaro. I used the second gen mechanical linkage and used an adapter plate from McLeod which bolted to the stock bellhousing. Check out my cardomain site on the camaro. The part numbers and info is all in there.

FWIW I'm planning to do the same swap with my 67 this winter....hopefully behind a LSX engine.

BTW I meant so say this earlier, but my buddy just put a 383 and 6 speed in his 79 rx7, and he wishes that he went with a 5 speed just because he can never use 6th gear. And he has a 3.90 gear ratio, so you might want to just go with a 5 speed.

I have 5.14 rear gear so thats why I thought a 6-speed would be better. But a 5 speed would just bolt right up pretty much
