ported intake ?

ported intake ? ok so my boss and i were talking cars one day and he told me that he had two ls1 motors sitting in the back of his shop. one that he thinks is stock and pretty much disassembled and the other was not stock and still together. so my first question was what heck are you doing with them? he said a guy with more money than sense tried to beef up his 02 corvette and wasnt happy with the results and had 6inch rodded motor built for it and the ls1 motors became scrap to him. so my boss got them for horse tradding reasons and have been sitting in his shop for a couple of yrs and that i could come get what i wanted. so what does a ported intake look like compared to a stock one? im stock other than deleted cats so im hoping theres a ported tb amoung other bolt on's. can anyone tell me what else to look for? thanks
