Don't have a pic, but it's located on the pass-side of the radiator, ~6" down from the top. But why remove it? You'd just have to replace it w/ a plug. If it's malfunctioning (line mine has), just disconnect the connector.

Coolant level is fine, but it still shows on the driver console that the engine is overheating or the coolant is low, and the engine temp is running fine at 210 degrees, its when it gets to that 210 mark is when the light comes on. ive heard of 2 solutions, replace the sensor or just remove it

No need to remove it. You can just unplug the wire at the sensor and the light will go out.

Had this problem put in new gm sensor and think its doing it again. Does this make the car slower and go into protection mode?

Funny that your sensor went out on just about same time as mine! Mine's giving the senseless low coolant level warning too.

I can't bring myself to just unplug it so I want to replace it. Any tricks in getting it off and replaced? I figured I'd do it when I change the coolant on it.

Yeah you don't need to drain rad to install it. I popped in another one and barely lost any coolant. I am getting th5e message again though mabye am low now. Will check again in spring. If not will disconect it. I wonder if the car goes into limp home mod when it comes on?

Al, I have been running with my low coolant sensor unplugged for 6 years or so now. It kept getting corroded and gummed up and I got two new ones put in and then I cleaned them another couple of times after that and then I finally said screw it and I pulled the connection off to the sensor. You just have to check your coolant manually every once in a while to make sure it is full.
