Default 305 firebird/trans am

I was wondering what and how much money you would you have to dump into it to make a 82-92 305 firebird/ t/a pretty fast to keep up with the 350 guys? Like intake, full exhaust, cam? Or is it not even worth the time to mess with and just save up and get a 350? thanks

Just save up for a 350. A 305 cost more to go fast.

I had an 87 TA 305 with a carb. I put in an Edelbrock intake and hi-flow cat and muffler and it was doing pretty good...enough to take down stock 98ish GT mustanks. I never really got a chance to go up against another 3rd gen with a 350 but I don't think it would've been much of a problem. I didn't ever see the point in putting too much work into it. Especially now that the LT1 and LS1 cars are getting cheaper.

If you do things to it man, do things that'll transfer over to a 350 later. Things like headers, intake, exhaust, nitrous.. etc. Eventually you're going to want that 350, and this stuff will bolt right over.
