Default Siphon gas?

Hello Everyone.

I have a 75 Firebird Esprit.

Car has been sitting for at least 5 years. It has half a tank of gas in it and I want to get it out and put fresh fuel in. Problem is, I cannot just siphon it out. There is what I am guessing is and anti-theft device in the tank. I cannot stick anything down the tube. There is a spring type device in there blocking everything but liquids from going down the tube.

Any suggestions for how to get the gas out?

Option 1: Take tank off.

Option 2: ...

Thanks

Myles

if the fuel filler neck is all metal (which i think it is), there isnt much you can do. if its partly rubber, then you can disconnect the neck from the tank. inside the neck is where the anti-siphon part is. you can then stick a tube in the tank itself to siphon. otherwise, you may have to drop the entire tank/filler neck assembly as one, and take it apart from there.

Yes, it is all metal.
Guess I will have to go with option 1 and tank it all off.
Thanks!
