hey everyone i was wonderin how many 2dr hard top 6 speed lt1 formula's were made in 97 if anyone knows please holla back at me....

No LS1 Birds were made in `97.
`98 was the first year for the LS1

Early 01s got the 98-00 WS6 style wheels and later 01s got the 02 WS6 Speedlines. So an 01 can have either style wheel from the factory.

'97 Formula Coupes = 2766
w/ M6 = 959
w/ HT = 949

I would suspect it would be a true mid year change....all you have to find is when Job 2 started. Also I would bet if you tried to order a set of factory wheels the parts computer would list both wheels would say either "cars produced before xx/xx/01" or "VIN numbers prior to" to be able to get the correct wheel for your car. Then again with GMs pathetic record keeping it might not.


On the other hand they very well may have just used up all the old style wheels and then started using the new ones mid run.

I'll bet it exists somewhere in some type of internal bulletin.

My 2001 was built is August '00 (ASC built #406) and it has 'em.

Ok, cool. I was thinking you meant the later model wheels...with a production date and # that low that would have really thrown me off!

PERSONALY I like the older style wheels better. I have a set of each in the shop. I think the speedlines are just more popular because they were newer and were not made very long.
