It is my opinion that TA´s will actually gain in value in few years, olders cars like 1st and 2nd generations more so than later models. The weak economy might force some people to sell their cars (sadly) which means more supply than demand. In the longer run I think prices will start to climb again with strengthening economy (this always goes in circles). One of the BIG factors in making these cars special and desirable in the future is the fact that they will be even more special than they are today. Future cars will be electrical, hybrid.....etc. Basically everything else than proper loud gasoline burning muscle car.
As I see it, Im holding on to my 2.nd generation bird. Its not gona be driven much, I guess I´ll be mostly using the "Solar powered Toyota H20 hybrid" in the future. But every now and then Im gona spend 300dollars filling up the tank and take the Trans out to show my boys how burnouts where done in the old days. Thats the value of old cars to me.

they will but base cars will never be worth anything. I guarantee many will be wishing they didnt beat the **** outa their numbered cars. Molest all the base t/a's you want but treat the numbered ones with tlc...just my opinion.

Everything loses value when boughten. Atleast you get to have fun, leave black streaks anywhere you please, and turn heads while doing it. /Thread

My car hasn't lost much money, I picked it up for $23 800 last year this time, and since then I've put about 15 000 miles on it, and it's worth like a grand less. ( judging from the other car selling in my area).
But I guess things are different in Canada.

I don't care that my car t/a is depreciating in value.I have app.28k to 30k into it now but what a car it is.I love my car and it is worth every penny I put into it.Their are a lot of other things I could waste my money on, but if it makes me happy and I'm not hurting anyone than WTF. Why not. I bought it to drive it and enjoy it not to stare at it and keep it in a garage
as an investment.

Shoot that's good news for me. If things go right I hope to get out of my Mustang soon and finally get a LS1 F-body. Been wanting one since they came out.

kbb usually doesnt mean ****. mines worth like $6-7K according to them. i would never sell it tho. when i pretended to trade it in to drive a lightning a dealership offered me $9500. but that was 2 years ago and it had approx 60K miles. think about how the price of trucks and suvs are goin down cuz of gas... that affects our cars too.

Cause it is not an option to sell my car...EVER!

When I die I'll make plans to have it donated to an automotive museum or something like that.
I drive mine everyday. Only 42,000 miles so far since I only have had it 3 years and it was low mileage when I got it.

And almost every day I hear, 'Cool car!', Nice Ride, Damn I wish I had that! and I smile. It is almost impossibel for me to arrive at work or back at home, without a smile on my face.

So.. you tell me, what is my car worth? A book can put a value on it, but not me.

The new garage will keep it after a few more years and I will buy another, cool daily driver. But this car gets sold only after I'm dead.

Depends on your area... WS6s are still selling for top doller, but I do admit the Z28s are losing value VERY fast from what I've seen. And the SS's are not far behind being the new Camaro will be out soon, making them out of date compared to what the new one will have. Either way I'm keeping my WS6, dropping money into it when I can....I decided to keep this one for the long haul(its my 4th f-bomb FYI). I'm only 23 and I paid it off in one shot, so I have a lot of years left with it. Maybe give it to one of my kids if I ever have any. *shrug*

All cars depreciate, take a look at 04-06 GP's when they were new compared to their worth now, so it could be much worse. Sounds like a good canidate for a custom paint job and an LSX Crate motor!

I intend to keep my car basically because it's paid for and as with all 98-02 LS1 birds is still a very good looking car. I know I'll be spending at the very least $5k on my car probably a bit more on mods, interior upgrades and maybe even paint, but in the end it just means I'll have a super nice car that's paid for.
