I've been thinking of doing the same. I bought her a SOM M6 T/A because she really used to like driving sticks, but times have changed and she doesn't really like it. We test drove a charcoal G8 GT and she liked it. Then we drove an 06 GTO and she liked it even more - the GTO seats are incredible.
We're still considering the G8 - but we'd get killed on the T/A, which I bought before the price of gas went crazy last year and the value of and demand for f-bodies plummeted.

She really likes it. The dealership gave us one with a full tank of gas and let us ride around in it for a day and after about an hour she was ready to buy one but we rode it for a few more hours just to be sure. She had a 99 grand am gt 2 door that she had been driving for 10 years so this is a major upgrade.

Nice choice on the G8 (and all of your rides). We have similar taste as I have a crew cab 4x4 duramax (daily driver) and a transam (toy) and I'm currently trying to talk my wife into a G8 as her next ride.
How does the G8 ride? Is it a comfortable car?

It rides pretty good, especially for having 19" wheels. Much better than the camaro. And its very comfortable even the back seats have plenty of room and nice seats

You must have 8 foot garage doors, Im running 35s on my dmax and I squeek in the garage with literally a half inch to spare on my onstar antenna. Within the next year or so my garage will have one of those sitting in it

Yeah 8' doors 24' deep and 34' wide and its still not big enough. We built the house around the garage. I had my buddies 06 crew cab dmax with a 9" lift and 37" tires in there with ease.
