I drove a black/blk+red G8 GT today. I have officially ruled the 335i out. The payments on the 335i are going to be $175 more a month vs the G8 with all the deals now! I am going to now start the shopping for my G8. I have a couple near me and some AWESOME pricing so far without much haggling.. I'll keep everyone posted!
Anything I should be looking for in pricing? What should I be getting off with any hidden "holdbacks" etc?? MSRP is $34,XXX, What should I be expecting? I have 3 dealerships by just phone calls with $600 under invoice - all avail rebates ($5,000) What else should I know??
ALSO: they quoted me $1,995 for the 5 yr bmpr to bmpr warranty ($0 deduct.) What should I be paying for this???

Because my TBSS has 47K miles on it (1.5 years) and I have over $2,000 in window regulators, throttle position sensors, fuel pump, all little **** that irritates me every time I cut a check. My ZO6, all little **** again, nothing big thank God, but annoying little things that add up to basically a GMPP warranty. I have had 7 GM cars in 4 years, 3 of which I have NOT bought a GMPP warranty and have been out much more than a warranty charge up front. Keep in mind also I am doing all the work myself and getting all my parts online! otherwise labor charges would be through the roof!

I've worked for BMW sine 95'. Buy the CTS or Pontiac. The new BMWs are piles, sure they are great performance cars but they have lots of "issues". There is no way I would buy a new BMW unless I planned on keeping under warranty ONLY.

If I was buying today, I would opt for the G8 GXP. Looking at 40k + taxes loaded.
The BMW with sports package and a few small options is 50k with taxes (out the door).
I have not had a single problem with the BMW 335, coming up on 2 years with it. The vishnu tune and intake put it around 360 rwhp and even more tq weighing about 3500lbs.
The GXP has great crank HP and TQ numbers and I believe I have seen a great dyno in the 370 rwhp range. GXP weighs just over 4000lbs.
If buying today, knowing the economy, I would go GXP. I'm an old gm guy at heart. '71 firebird was my first car.

I'm probably being too harsh when I say BMWs are piles. I used to love BMWs (I've had 4 and autoX 1) but I think the factory are over-engineering the cars now and are gonna shoot themselves in the foot. But to be fair, I only see the problem cars. I'm sure there are lots of people that have little to no problems (thank God!). The 335i and 135i are fast as hell and are a blast to drive, I considered one on a few occasions but all I gotta do is look at a G8 and it all over!

The G8 GT I am looking at is now BY FAR the best deal. The 3 I am looking at are $34,110 are loaded (sprt, prem, roof). No GM Card earnings- $26,000 Which is $425/month for 72 through a local credit union. I have had an e46 330ci and an e46 M3 both Dinan stg 2, bought both new from the same dealer I am dealing with now, I dont know if I wanna go back to the bimmers. The two I had LIVED in the shop and there seemed to be an opinion/attitude about bmw's vs the American vehicles I've owned, even from friends. I am however also irritated with all the little **** my GM's have had go wrong, however not expensive. I am 70% there on the G8. My only mental thought is that I have always had a "performance model" vehicle, such as the 330 perf pack, M3, SS, Z (LSx based engines). I have more faith mentally in the extra time and effort the co's put into the vehicles VS a "regular", non GXP, G8, I say this with a smile cause I know how solid the G8 feels to me. Well tommorow I am going try and make a decision and start the purchase process on the G8... Thanks to eveyone for the input thus far!!

I am selling the Ram 1500. I am almost done with the warranty and it has had a ton of work done under the warranty. I am also gonna be selling the Mercedes we finally finished. I wanna get a daily driver sedan. The SS has been awesome but I want to stop throwing 30+k miles a year on it. With the economy I want to save some cash on daily use of gas as well. Even if it's low now, who knows if it will pop back up and also why waste $500/month on gas in the SS?

im glad youre choosing pontiac and if youre not set on getting a stick, get the GT. both engines could be great with money spent, but for what it sounds like youre doing with it, go with the GT for a little better mileage and a little simpler daily driver.

I am sitting down Saturday and hopefully hammering out something for delivery late month before the rebates end. Some financial items came up and hacked the car fund a little bit. I feel like the G8's with the rebates are too good of a deal to pass up. I'll keep everyone posted. What's the deal with the Vararam as well? I have the Vararam B2 on my ZO6 and it is awesome. I had the Stinger on before and the Vararam is a big difference.

I just noticed that rebate of 3k on the build your own web site for the G8 GXP. Also saw some advertisement for 0% interest for 60 months. A nicely equipped G8 GXP for somewhere in the mid 30's is a no brainer. I wish the Girlfriend had a little money to put down and I would urge her to get into one. I can dream.

I've owned a H/C Maggie CTS-V and a Space Grey 335i E92
I'm now looking at a G8, but haven't driven one yet...
CTS-V was a great car, but most are out of warranty, the rear is weak.
335i is a bit pricey. Yes, it can be chipped for more power, but its just not the same as a pushrod V8 w/ a nice sounding exhaust.
