We had been looking for a couple of months. I was deployed last fall when the GT's came out and I was wondering if they would come out with another version so we waited and I kept my eye on the markets and info on the G8's. Then I started reading about the GXP coming out with the LS3 and was sold on it. The car is a looker and definatly looked like a fun car to drive judging from all of the write ups in the car magazines. Read an article in GM High Tech about adding headers, stall and a tune on a GT and it ran a very respectable time in the 1/4.
So after I got back from my deployment I went up to see my hubby in the Washington DC area on his TDY and we found a dealer up there. They had 6 GXP's on the lot in all different colors. We got to drive the GT but they weren't letting anyone drive the GXP's. GHAY!! Unfortunatly for them we decided not to buy from them when they marked the car up and wanted around $47,000.00 out the door. We said no thank you and proceeded on to another dealer.
We are stationed in Alabama near Montgomery so I looked up some dealers in the area and found one. They had a black GXP but sold it a couple of days later after contacting them. They worked with us we choose the 0% APR for the car and we nego on the price out the door. They had to search around for the GXP but there was one not far in Birmingham. We wanted silver or black and they got us a black one but I think it was sold, so they found a silver one and we were just waiting for it to show up.
So out the door was around $40,000.00 roughly I don't remember to the exact dollar amount, but far less then we would have paid in DC for one.
We are VERY happy with the car and it's a lot of fun to drive along with our 2 F-bodies. She's a M6 with a sunroof. Pictures below.
On another NOTE skip shift is very annoying with this car, anyone else had it turned off by a tuner? How would this affect the warrenty on the car is my concern?

Congrats on the purchase.
I'm with 'ya on the skip shift, easiest way is to ride the RPMS a little longer so you can put it in 2nd. It's in the manual the precise throttle input and speed it engages the 1-4 mandatory.

No it wasn't Koons, the dealer was located in Arlington, forgot the name. They had about 6 GXP's and about 25 GT's and a couple 6 cylindars on their lot across town from the dealership. They were not willing to nego on the price they said other dealers pay that price, and I told my hubby do we look like a dealership? We're customers I thought.
Thanks for all the comments guys/gals! The car is AWESOME! I'll do that with the RPM's to try and avoid skip shift.
