Anyways, what the heck is this DOD I'm seeing you guys talk about? If you're getting 27+ mpg (highway), this might be the decision makes for me. I would love to have a V8 getting that kind of mpg. I do mainly highway driving.
Get yourself a C6 corvette 30 mpg on freeway 17 street. as long as you dont floor it.... then you mileage will very... and this is ATI procharged 7psi boost..

Just got back from a 1600 mile highway only trip. With four people and a trunk full of luggage I got 23.7mpg according to the DIC, hand calculated 23.5 so thats close. Average speed on the DIC was 72mph. I'll take that on regular gas, kicks my old TBSS's *** on mileage thats for sure..

My 09 GT is at 20.1 mpg according to the dashboard computer. Mixed city and Hwy driving. Still pretty new with only 800 miles on the clock. Still expecting some improvement with a few more miles.
Like everyone else is saying, take it easy on the loud pedal and you'll be ok. It is nice to know though that it's got some serious stones if you want to nail it.

Sorry to bring an old post up but the lady is looking at getting one (well I talked her into it ). She travels 90 miles a day to work and back, she wants an auto (ugh) but its her car, not mine. What are you guys seeing with the A6 G8 GT? Any results with the 3.6L as well? I am thinking the 6.0L might do better than the 3.6L on fuel? I have read the reviews for fuel mileage but I am looking for real life results.

Thanks,
Ryan

For a G8 GT

Stock: Highway ~70 mph about 24 mpg
Around the City 16-22 mpg (heavy foot more toward the 16)

Mixed driving figure avg 19-20 (about the same as a minivan)

I would like to update my MPG ratings. I am not sure if it is the gas or time of year but for my M6 GXP:

18 tank to tank w/o caring about conserving fuel.
20 tank to tank when i try.

23 on the interstate.

Peak instantaneous fuel mileage while holding speed at about 50 MPH in sixth is 31 MPG.

Plus one on the v6 numbers. It isn't a fuel efficient car by any means but I would like to know. I haven't seen very many V6s around town. Most all are GTs.

Do you think the tune helped the mileage out some Ryan?

Yes, on the red GXP the fuel mileage did increase a point and a half. Power as well.

Haven't tried to tune the black one yet. We were going to put it on the dyno the other weekend that I called you but the shop owner needed to roll out early that Saturday so we only tested the red car.
