Would a 275/50/17 work or will that be too tall(28")?

I run 275/40/17 nitto nt05r on 17x9 ws6 wheels. A 50 would work too but I'm not sure what's available in a 50. I know they make 295/45/17 Mickey thompsons.

M and H tires makes a 275/50/17 which my buddy runs on his GT500 but idk if a 28" tall tire is too tall on our cars. any idea anyone?

Unless you adjust your shift points its too tall, stock is 26.7" so something close to that works ok. I use the 265/40 18 Et Street radials which are right at that height (26.5").
