Do you suggest installing a transmission cooler along with the new stall? I had a Vig 3200 installed on my 2005 GTO and the installer almost insisted I had one installed along with the new torque converter.

When you install a smaller converter you loose about 2-3 qts of fluid volume due to the smaller size, so a cooler or deep pan is suggested.

With the stock converter with current set up I ran a 8.0 1/8 - 60ft 2.0+

With the the 3200 Yank with current set up (same track) 7.7 1/8 - 60ft 1.8+

Can you speculate how the 3200 and 3600 should compare in the 4000-6000 range?

Thanks

We have run the two in the same car and the test results will be posted soon as our web guy gets back in town.

at 6000 RPM I believe the SS3600 showed 336.85 and the SS3200 344.30
and at red line 6500 they almost matched

I need one of these badly. Especially since my cam is going in on Saturday. What are the chances of doing a group buy on the converters?

Yank has many customers that post results of there converters at the track and we believe and trust the results.
We compare the posted results to our data and some times are impressed by the customer results submitted.

I believe that over the past 7 years or may be longer the Yank is the only converter manufacture to post any testing data on converters. (If I am wrong on this please show me the Manufactures data and threads)

We will continue to do so and more results are being reviewed at this time and will be also posted for all to enjoy.

We welcome all points of view on our converters and thank you for the review of our testing
Here is a post by on our new XE3200 for the A6 trans it shows 97.5 % eff. this was done by an out side shop with no connections to Yank
thought it would go along with this thread about converter tests

I don't have a dyno to post as I don't care about them, I usually just get an ET to show gains. But during tuning my car showed consistent 19-20hp higher when they lock the converter. I honestly thought that was normal since most of the other cars dynoed there with Circle-D converters showed the same.

What is the STR on the XE3200 and how would you compare that converter to the SS3200? I'm looking at a 224/236 cam and was hoping a 3200 would give me high enough shift extensions to keep the car in the powerband.
